Family Reunion (Don's Mom's side)

We had such an a great time down in New Mexico at our family reunion. It was so wonderful to have everyone in one place at the same time. Shaylee and Malachi LOVE all their Aunts and Uncles and LOVE Grammas and Grampa!

Shaylee and Cai with Gramma and Grampa Stackpole:

Being a clown... :)

Lovin' on Grampa!

Ice Cream is sooo yummy - especially with Aunt Christy!

Shaylee's favorite task - watering flowers! Grampa even paid her for it!

June Happenings

Here are just a few of the things we did in June 2011:

Strawberry picking!

Baking - we thought it was cool how the eggs looked like a flower - simple pleasures.

Refining the pumping technique:

Celebrating Daddy's 30th birthday!

Daddy was too old to blow out the candles on his own... :)

Playing Dress-up

Shaylee helped feed Malachi by giving him the whole container of yogurt...

A princess work party!

More park play time!

Car Races!

Home Projects - replacing the back door (there is a new door in there now, I just didn't get a picture).

Nature Walk

We decided to take a family nature walk one lovely May day, and as is standard for Oregon, it decided to rain. We had fun anyway. Within the first few minutes of the walk we realized that we really need to expose Shaylee a little bit more - if we could only count the number of screams or near panick attacks she had when she saw a bug or heard a noise... Okay, it wasn't quite that bad, but close... :)

On the map of this walk, there was a gazebo, so we decided to make that our destination for our lunch - a nice dry place to sit and eat... Well, the gazebo turned out to be a little bridge/deck area - no seats and no roof - unlike any gazebo I've ever seen. So we found a little bench so we didn't have to sit in the mud.

If you notice, Shaylee has a smile/grimace on her face - she is concerned about all the bugs in the tree behind her. :)

Birthday Boy!

Malachi Alexander Stackpole turned 1-year-old on May 20th, 2011. It's hard to believe that it has already been a year, yet so much has happened in the last year. Our lives would not be complete without this precious baby. He is so full of joy and his smile will just make you melt. We love you, Cai!

Shaylee decorated his cake - because that is the job of a good big sister! :)

And yes, he LOVES chocolate!

Present time! He didn't care too much about opening the presents, so Shaylee again did her big sister duties and helped out!

He got some cars, an outfit, and a bunch of cool tools. He loves them all!

Must be the bloodline...

I found Malachi standing up on my dishwasher door and I remembered back a few years ago when his sister did the same thing.... Shaylee at 12 months, Malachi at 11 months:

May Fun

My little helpers...

Oh, LOOK!!! "There's Grampa!"

Some good old cousin fun!
